Back to Blogger land

I'm back...did you miss me?

Too much has happened since the last post...so I'll just pick up here.

This has been a whirl wind week. Tuesday morning I drove to Louisville,Ky with my friend Karol. I had a 12:00 appt with Dr. Cynthia Gleeson. She is my new rheumatologist. Answered a round of questions, after I had filled out a 5 page questionaire. They withdrew 8 tubes of blood and x-ray my back. I won't have any results till the end of next week. I've never given that much blood at one time before. On the 7th tube I got a little sick to my stomach so I drank a small amount of sprite. I think part of the problem had to do with only having 2 pieces of toast for breakfast at 7:00am. We stopped at Ryan's in Corydon for lunch. Lots of salad, fruits and vegetables! I even turned down my favorite dessert..peach cobbler. Actually anything peachy I like doesn't have to be cobbler.

I was suppose to walk Tuesday night but after giving that much blood and getting up at 5:45am I was wiped out. Thursday I didn't go as I got my hair cut..hey a girl's got priorities. Today was 5 miles in a cool suana. I say cool because it was in the low 70's but so humid. I ended up doing 17 minute miles. Not where I would like to be time wise so the game plan is on. I am down 7.2#'s. Again not where I wanted to be at this point but the game plan is in place.

Thursday was one of those milestones in life..... I turned 50. NO I'm not old. I know older men and women who can out walk me anyday. You are only as old as you think you are. I'll be old when I die. My grandmother, Nellie Montgomery lived to be over 100 years old. I'll jthink like her. You are what you think you are. I refuse to find me a rocking chair and let life pass me by. Not me..I'm going to grab it for all it's worth. When God's finished with me here I'll wake up in Glory.

I've got a lot that needs to be done around the house. My sewing room in a mess. I can't even get to my sewing table. I haven't decided it I'm going to switch the sewing room and computer room. The computer/music room was suppose to be my room because it's bigger and I have more stuff. It's just a matter of moving my stuff again. I hope I can find my red hippo that has my hand sewing supplies. I've got a pillow sham I'm making for our anniversary.

Next Monday we pick back up with our bible Study "Bad Girls of the Bible" by Liz Curtis. With vacations, VBS, holidays, deaths we've not been able to meet since the end of May. I really like her. She is funny, witty. When you read her books it's like your sitting right there with her.
