Did you stay up to ring in the new year? We went to some friends house to celebrate 2008 and ring in a new year. As usual there was way more food than should have been. We laughed till tears ran at the stories told. Course we never get together without playing cards or dominos. The countdown began, the horns went off and confetti filled the air. We wished everyone a Happy New Year and headed home. Only thing is it wasn't 2009 yet at least not in Southern IN. We had to leave early as Charles had to get up at 5:15am to go to work. I on the other hand got to stay in bed till 7:00am.
I spent New Year's day with some gal friends. We ate breakfast at Denny's in Oakland City before we traveled to Washington, IN to The Stitching Post for Mary Dell's New Year's Day 25% sale. I purchased some fabric I needed for the new mystery over at Quiltville .. Double Delight. I decided to go ahead and do the mystery in the color's as Bonnie had chosen.
I made my list for the U.F.O challenge. It stands for Un Finished Objects. I had a hard time coming up with just 15 projects I wanted to complete. They're in varius states of completion. One just needs to have the binding and hanging sleeve added. Some need to be assembled into tops so they can be quilted. Others just need to be quilted, the binding and hanging sleeve added.
Lot's of goals I want to accomplish this year. The usual loose weight...already down 14 lbs since the end of October, begin a strength training program. Walk a marathon....WHEN PIGS FLY!!!! Training begins Monday for the Cincinnati Flying Pig 1/2 marathon in May.
Today being the first day of a new year I thought I would begin my quest to read through the Bible in a year. I've started this many times but never made it through more than a few chaptes. I had gotten a Daily Bible a couple of years ago at a Thrive simulcast I went to with some ladies from church. It's dated so as long as I stay in it everyday I'll be able to find my place and finish in a year.
I want to memorize scripture so when the need arises, I can recall what God's word has to say. Beth Moore has begun the 1st & 15th Siesta Scripture Memory team. Today is day 1 and if I'm going to participate I need to get my 1st versus written on spiral bound notecards.
I'm headed into E'ville to pickup my nephew from the movies. Then it's off to pack and bed.
Blessings,
